How do I find courses on the site?
There are lots of ways of searching for courses. You can choose to search by
- Practice area
- Topic
- Provider
- Distance/E-learning
- Publications/DVD/CD
- In-house providers
- Location/date
The different ways of searching are explained in more detail on the searches page.
If you are searching by practice area from the home page follow these steps
- Click on “bean” on the home page/course finder page for the practice area you are interested in. This will take you to a list of topics under that category of courses.
- You can either select one of the topics or select all of the topics by highlighting the top one, holding down the shift key and clicking on the bottom one.
- Now select a date range for when you would like to do a course and click on submit. If you would like to see courses for all dates then you can simply click on submit.
- The results will show you the locations where public courses are running and also the number of in-house training providers, distance/e-learning and publications/DVD/CD courses available.
- Click on whichever you are interested in and the final results page will display details of the training courses available.
- If you see a course which interests you click on the info button and it will take you directly to the providers website which has information about the course you have selected.
How can I find out more about the courses listed?
For each course listed there is an info button. If you click on this it will take you directly to the provider’s website where you can read more about the training which interests you.
Can I book a course through the site?
Yes. For public courses when you find a course you would like to attend you can click on the Booking Request form for that course. This will take you to a form to supply your contact details and delegate details. When you submit the form it will send an email to the provider who will then contact you to process the booking.
For certain providers the Booking Request button will direct you to a simple form to supply your contact details and then will forward you straight to the booking form on the providers website. We ask for your contact details so that we can monitor bookings made through the site.
Why should I use the Booking Request form?
There is nothing to prevent you from contacting the provider directly. However if you use the Booking Request form it tells the provider that you have found the course using Source the Course. If providers know that you use the site and find their courses through it they will continue to list their courses. It will also encourage new providers to list their courses. This will make it easier for you to find a great choice of courses the next time you are looking.
Do you provide information on courses for students wishing to study law?
The site list courses which are most useful for people already working in the law. We do not list law courses for students wishing to study law. For further details on courses you could try www.lawcareers.net.
Are the courses accredited for CPD?
Where public courses are accredited for CPD with the Law Society the number of hours are specified on the results page. Some courses do not have CPD as they are for paralegals and secretaries. Always check with the provider before booking a course if you are in any doubt.
How do I list my legal training courses on the site?
